At Brilliant Read Media, it is our constant endeavour to identify and share some of the unique and compelling stories from the startup ecosystem. As part of this, we invited Megha Jain for an interview with Brilliant Read Media. To say further, Megha is a Soft Skill Coach and an Influencer. Let’s learn more about her background, inspiring journey so far and her advice for our growing community!
Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Megha:
Could you please take us through your background and your journey?
I come from a strong business background—both before and after marriage—so planning, organising, and managing things have always come naturally to me. Being married for the last 15 years has added many roles to my life, but it never took away one constant belief: I always knew I wanted to build something of my own.
For a long time, my work remained behind the scenes—supporting, enabling, and quietly making things happen, whether at home or while managing an educational institute.
Over time, I realised something powerful: managing life, people, and responsibilities isn’t just “part of life”—it’s a skill. And it’s one I have cultivated deeply and proudly.
How did you discover your passion?
While working closely with college students, I realised that many of them, despite being brilliant, were still unable to crack their interviews. It wasn’t their knowledge that held them back, but the way they presented themselves—their communication, confidence, emotional awareness, and ability to express who they truly were.
This insight became a turning point for me. I understood the power of how one shows up, chooses their words, and manages their emotions. That’s when I decided to step forward, own my experience, and channel it into meaningful and purposeful work.
Who do you believe has been the biggest source of motivation in your daily life?
My greatest source of motivation has always been my students and the people who confide in me. Their faith in me—and the way they often tell me that I naturally embody the qualities of a soft skills coach—gave me the courage to step forward.
Watching their growth, witnessing their breakthroughs, and feeling the trust they place in me inspires me every single day. It pushes me to keep showing up, becoming better, and continuing to do meaningful work.
What are some of the strategies that you believe have helped you grow as a person?
One of the most important strategies that has helped me grow as a person has been having complete faith in my thoughts and actions, while consciously choosing not to compare myself with others. I truly believe every journey is unique, and growth becomes meaningful only when you honour your own pace.
Another powerful strategy for me has been consistency. When I began my course, I set one clear goal for myself: to become a trainer. I created a one-year roadmap and committed to it with steady, disciplined effort.
That clarity, consistency, and dedication didn’t just shape my professional journey—they shaped the person I have become today.
In your opinion, what are the keys to success?
Discipline plays a major role in achieving success. It has helped me manage my time effectively—because everything truly begins there. When you respect time, you automatically start respecting your goals.
Another crucial factor in success is taking action instead of endlessly planning. You don’t have to wait for the iron to be hot—sometimes you just need to strike. Many people fail not because they lack ability, but because they never take action due to the fear of failure.
The truth is, you’ll never know whether you’ll fail or succeed unless you try. Taking that first step is where transformation truly begins.
What advice would you give to your followers?
My advice to my followers is simple—find that one niche in your life where you can truly master yourself.
Take time to reflect on your journey and notice where you naturally excel, where your strengths shine, and where people consistently seek your guidance. With awareness and patience, that clarity will emerge organically.
When it comes to soft skills, my advice is to always dress, speak, and behave in alignment with the time, place, and situation.
When your presence, your words, and your behaviour are thoughtfully attuned to your environment, everything else begins to fall naturally into place.
